How CMI collects & uses electronic contact details
Where possible, CMI collects telephone, fax, e-mail and, on occasion, mobile phone numbers from its stakeholders, including members, customers, approved centres, external verifiers, associates and other key contacts. This information is only used with the contact’s consent and this consent can be given or withdrawn at anytime. The CMI does not wish to send unsolicited, direct marketing electronic communications (spam) to anyone and will respond promptly to requests to stop sending marketing materials.
From 11th December 2003, anyone who provides their contact details to CMI will be asked to give permission for this information to be used for electronic direct marketing. This consent may be captured in writing, for example in an application form, or orally if contact information is provided over the phone. Thereafter, whenever a contact is sent a direct marketing communication they will be provided with either an address or an unsubscribe button to which a request to unsubscribe from future electronic communications can be sent.
In the main, CMI sends direct marketing materials by post and e-mail only. The CMI rarely uses fax numbers for direct marketing purposes. Direct marketing communications sent include communications containing information about:
Latest news – designed to keep you up to date with the latest management and business related news.
Products and services tailored to your needs – designed to keep you informed of the latest Institute products and services that are pertinent to your needs.
Events – designed to make you aware of Institute events.
Questionnaires and surveys – designed to capture your views on management issues.
If you do not wish to receive electronic communications from the Institute and its business partners please complete and submit this form.
Enabling Cookies on your computer
The CMI’s login process needs cookies to be enabled on your computer.
Transient or session cookies
If you view CMI’s standard web pages the cookies used are transient or session cookies and are only stored in your computer’s memory during your browsing session, making it easy for you to move from page to page without having to login repeatedly. The cookies are not stored on your hard drive and do not collect information from your computer. All session cookies are automatically deleted from your computer when the browser is closed.
If you select the Institute’s partially sighted web pages or chose to join the smart Continuing Professional Development scheme then a permanent cookie is created and stored on your computer’s hard drive so that we are able to recognise you when you next return to the site. The cookies do not collect any information that may be stored on your computer.
