We also provide a series of webinars designed to help you fulfil your automatic enrolment duties. Automatic enrolment is now in full swing and employers will have to automatically enrol some or all of their workers into a qualifying pension scheme. The deadline by which each employer needs to be ready to enrol their workers is called their staging date.
Employers’ staging dates depend on their size. The new duties affect the largest employers first followed by medium-sized employers and finally small and micro-employers. The new duties mean that employers will need to prepare at least six months ahead of their staging date to help make sure they meet their duties on time.
Automatic enrolment isn’t a one-off activity. It requires ongoing administration and employers shouldn’t wait until later to start planning. It’s a good idea to start talking to your existing pension and payroll provider now to see if they can help.
How NEST can help
NEST is specifically designed to ease the introduction of automatic enrolment for any employer. We offer a high-quality, compliant scheme that’s been created to meet the needs of both members and employers.
NEST is flexible enough to be used for your whole workforce. Employers can use NEST:
as a sole scheme for all workers
for a particular group of workers alongside an existing scheme
as an entry-level scheme while your existing scheme has a probationary period
as a base scheme to make sure you comply with the new duties while you pay additional contributions from another scheme
as a catch-all scheme to enrol workers who don’t voluntarily join an existing pension scheme at your workplace
We provide a wide range of materials that employers can use to communicate with their workers about automatic enrolment. Our email templates, guides, videos and posters are great tools to help make sure workers know what’s happening.
Delegated access
NEST also offers delegated access, which allows employers to minimise their time spent on administrative tasks. Delegated access allows advisers or intermediaries to have different levels of access depending on what duties an employer wants them to deal with.
NEST makes it easy for employers to meet their duties. Our online scheme is easy to use and lets employers and delegates carry out almost all processes through their online account 24/7. This means employers can save time and money on set-up and administration and still offer their workers a high-quality pension scheme.
